Organic Food

Food and Organic

There’s a growing shift of food and organic consumption of the public from non-organic food to organic food.  There are those who really do not understand the difference between commercial food and organic food, they think that eating organic food is just a health fad that will soon fade away. What’s the difference between the two?  This can be clearly established when you look at the multiple health benefits that food and organic foods can bring you.  Here are just some of them: Food and organic food carrying the organic label is certified to be free from chemicals, toxins, and other synthetic ingredients that non-organic usually contain.  This is because organic food is produced from a method that strictly prohibits the use of synthetic fertilizers as well as chemical based pesticides, and eliminates additional steps in processing that can taint the produce. While organic food may pass as a fad considering the market trends across the world, it will definitely stay and transcend trends and fads.  Unlike most fads that are heavily based on hype, the health benefits of food and organic foods are well founded.  Several scientific studies, research, including surveys have established the health benefits that can be acquired from eating organic food. In order for a food to be labeled as organic, the method by which it has been produced should pass the strictest standards of the USDA.  If a food is certified to be organic, the producers have the option to carry the seal of certification with the organic label.  This guaranteed that the food is absolutely free from chemicals and other synthetic ingredients or substances. Research shows that to get the same amount of nutrition from a head of lettuce 50 years ago, you would have to eat 20 commercially farmed heads of lettuce to get the same benefits.

Food and Organic Food and Organic Benefits

In the 1900s the amount of organic food eaten was dramatically higher than it is now, in 1945 200,000 pounds of chemicals sprays were sprayed on Farms in America. In 2002 two billion pounds were sprayed and losses of crops were doubled than what it was in 1945, this clearly shows there is no need for these chemicals to be used on our foods. The more toxic the foods you eat the more toxic your body becomes, eating toxic foods that have been sprayed with chemicals the lower the quality of life you are going to have.  It’s getting your priorities right, stop eating cheap crap scientific studies have proved hands down that eating organic food is far more nutritional, and eating commercially food is detrimental to your health.
